Write your name, the date and the name of your instrument in the upper right hand corner of this sheet of paper.
Write 6 bars of music for your instrument. Be very creative. It must be in 4/4 meter and be easily played at 140 beats per minute. You can write in any key and use any rhythm. Bars e and F must be written using the note values given below them. Do not concern yourself with how the measures fit together. each measure should be considered independent of the others. Do not tie any notes over bar lines. Include dynamics for each bar.
The large capital letters above the staff indicate the order in which the measures should be played to perform the piece. The letters are grouped into the phrases. When performing the piece take a breath between each phrase to help make the structure of the piece clear to the listeners. Play the piece boldly and with confidence.
